DC Ranch | DC Ranch
Showcasing a wealth of sumptuous homes and homesites, DC Ranch is located at the base of the majestic McDowell Mountains. This 4,400-acre north DC Ranch community wows the senses with its views of the saguaro-strewn high Sonoran desert, surrounding mountains and a blanket of shimmering city lights. Communities within DC Ranch range from Silverleaf, an exclusive guard-gated enclave, to tree-lined streets reminiscent of a classic front-porch-centric Main Street lifestyle to quaint villages of intimate cottages and urban-hipster courtyard homes, including stacked-flat designs exuding a charming Euro-style village atmosphere.
Still other areas are host to ultra-sophisticated homes set on multi-million-dollar real estate hidden-away deep inside the desert landscape. When it comes to social and recreational amenities, DC Ranch definitely makes the scene with its two beautiful private clubs, The Country Club and The Silverleaf Club. Each Club enjoys a stunning clubhouse, first-rate tennis and swimming facilities and a challenging golf course set in a spectacularly scenic environment. Designed by Tom Lehman and John Fought, The Country Club course fits the bill for all levels of golfers from beginners to highly skilled low-handicappers. Boasting deep bunkers, subtle breaks and sensational views, the course gently undulates across the extraordinary terrain, offering a new game every time she’s played. Nestled into crimson-hued canyons, the distinctive community of Silverleaf features a Tom Weiskopf-designed golf course that is a magnet for competitive players. The par-72, 7,322-yard course is both lush and lovely and thanks to its dramatic elevation changes, it overlooks breathtaking views of mountains, desert and a glitterati of lights in the valley far below.
Life at Silverleaf also includes six lighted tennis courts, two pools, the Silverleaf Club and Spa and a full-year calendar of social events and activities for all ages. Another feature that makes DC Ranch unique is its commitment to the preservation of open desert space and its interwoven tapestry of walking, hiking and biking trails that make community connections easy to establish and maintain. But that’s not all – DC Ranch is also anchored by The Market at DC Ranch, an upscale shopping district filled with one-of-a-kind boutiques, neighborhood coffee shops and picturesque shopping and dining venues.
A little history: The earliest recording of DC Ranch dates to 1885, when Dr. W.B. "Doc" Crosby registered the DC cattle brand. In 1901, Wisconsin businessman E.O. Brown purchased the DC brand and claimed the land, which had grown into a 43,000-acre cattle ranch. The ranch’s last cattle drive to the stockyards and bustling railroad yards in Phoenix took place in the late 1950s. Nearly four decades later, an affiliate of DMB Associates, Inc. partnered with the landowners to create this magnificent golf community.
